In the real world, everyone I know and knows me calls me Lili.

Liliana Troy is my full name. I was introduced to miniature painting in 1999 – I painted (ahem dry brushed) my husband’s Chaos Space Marine. Here he is with all his grainy and dusty dry brushed paint job. My husband wouldn’t let me repaint this guy no matter how much I beg him to let me repaint it. Now you know that my painting skill in the beginning was just as bad as everyone else who started this hobby. And I am still learning new things right now. It’s a matter of how much commitment you are willing to put into developing your skill and taking the time to improve your painting. Just like everything else in life.

What Paints and Brushes Do You Use?

I use Citadel, Vallejo Model Color, Vallejo Game Color and Vallejo Model Air interchangeably as those paints serve my style of bright and vivid color with high contrast.

As for brushes, I use Rafael and Da Vinci. I use size 0 and 1 for majority of my painting. I only use size 00 for painting super tiny area.

So How Many Awards Do You Have?

In my years of painting, I managed to snag several gold, silver and bronze trophies from some prestigious conventions – Golden Demon, Reaper Con, Gen Con, Adepticon, Genghis Con and Tacticon. A couple of medals from MMSI paint exhibition, and two slayer weapons from Golden Demon.

Do You Do Painting Commission?

Unfortunately, no. I don’t do commission. However, if you are a serious collector and you see something that you want to have, feel free to contact me and we’ll discuss on the price (if I am willing to be separated with that piece).
